Within a historic arcade — its domed rotunda, arched façades and windows with wrought-iron balustrades — two musicians play standing: a violinist in a navy jacket at the front, and a clarinettist in a black shirt. Guests conversing at white-clothed tables, figures crossing the stone-paved floor and lanterns casting a warm yellow light are rendered in fine detail; a dim, warm evening atmosphere pervades the scene. Signed "Sema Peyman 2026" at lower right; the work is presented together with its gilded frame (framed dimensions 102 × 82 cm).

About the Artist

Sema Peyman (b. 1960, Istanbul) began painting with her training in the studio of the painter Faruk Cimok, and opened her first solo exhibition in Istanbul in 1993. An artistic life that began in the impressionist manner has in recent years extended to hyperrealist work and the dry pastel technique. Her oil paintings of the historic settings of Beyoğlu and the everyday scenes of Istanbul appear in gallery and auction catalogues, and her works are held in collections in Turkey and abroad.
